1. înclinare a capului, semn afirmatty din cap;

to give a nod of assent a face un semn de acceptare;

to answer with a nod a răspunde printr-o înclinare / mişcare a capului.

2. semn din cap (imperativ);

to be at smb.'s nod a fi supus celor mai mici capricii ale cuiva;

to have smb. at one's nod a avea pe cineva la ordinele sale / la cheremul său;

to obey smb. on the nod a asculta pe cineva orbeşte.

3. semn din cap (salut familiar);

he gave me a nod îmi făcu un semn din cap.

4. moţăială; înclinare / aplecare a capului (din pricina somnului);

the land of nod împărăţia viselor;

to go to the land of nod a călători în ţara viselor, a-l fura Moş Ene; a adormi.

nod II. verb A. intranzitiv

1. a înclina capul, a face semn cu capul, a da din cap.
