5. (bis.) judecata de apoi;

the crack of doom sfârşitul lumii anunţat prin sunete şi surle; v. doomsday.

doom II. verb tranzitiv

1. (to) a sorti, a destina (cu dat.), a condamna (la);

doomed to perish sortit pieirii.

2. (mai ales la part. trec.) a osândi, a sorti nenorocirii;

he knew he was doomed se ştia condamnat / pierdut.

3. (înv.) a da / a pronunţa o sentinţă de condamnare împotriva (cuiva).
