clasp II. verb A. tranzitiv

1. a închide, a prinde în copci.

2. a presa, a apăsa; a îmbrăţişa;

to clasp in one’s arms a strânge în braţe;

to clasp smb.’s hand a strânge mâna cuiva;

to clasp hands a) a se lua de mână, a-şi împleti degetele; b) (fig.) a se solidariza.

3. (tehn.) a fixa cu scoabe; a strânge.

clasp II. verb B. intranzitiv

(despre plante agăţătoare) a se încolăci.
